Join us for Murder at the Speakeasy: A Northland Mystery Fundraiser on Friday, September 4 or Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Northland Public Library from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Murder at the Speakeasy is an interactive, 21-and-over event to help raise funds for Northland during September’s Love Your Library campaign. Attendees will enjoy sips, sweets and suspense while solving an original mystery developed by Northland’s Adult Services librarians. Light appetizers, coffee and desserts are included in the ticket price. Wine by the glass and beer will be available for $5 each.
General admission tickets cost $35 per person, and a Supporting Sponsor ticket option is also available for $50, which includes general admission, one alcoholic drink ticket, and name recognition in the event program.
Tickets go on sale August 1, 2026.
Don’t delay because each session can only accommodate 125 participants, and this event has sold out in the past. Tickets are not refundable, but they can be transferred to someone else if your plans change.

Northland Public Library Foundation is proud to periodically host over-21 murder mystery fundraisers after-hours throughout the library with sips, sweets and suspense. Event attendees have the chance to solve an interactive, original murder mystery developed by Northland’s Adult Services librarians, while raising funds in support of the Library.
The first event, Murder in the Stacks: A Northland Mystery, debuted in September 2023, and after a tremendous response — tickets sold out in less than 36 hours! — an encore presentation was held in February 2024 and sold out just as quickly.
In September 2024, the Foundation hosted a brand-new event, Staged for Murder: A Northland Mystery, over the course of two evenings, followed by a cruise ship-themed mystery, Murder Sets Sail, in September 2025.
