The Computer Center is open on a first-come, first-served basis with a four-hour time limit. Library cardholders may access any of eighteen open computers, plus one Express Printing PC (15 minute time limit) and a Vivid Pix Scanner with restoration software (two-hour time limit).

One-On-One Technology Assistance
Our Computer Center staff offers one-on-one sessions for help with technology. For example, if you need to learn about your new phone, get started making a budget in Excel, or practice some typing skills while working on a letter for a friend, then the Computer Center staff may be able to assist you. These sessions are 30 minutes in length. Please bring any relevant information like login information (usernames and passwords). To schedule a session, call the Ask A Librarian desk at 412-366-8100 x 113. When you call, please let us know what you would like help with and if you will be bringing your own device.
One-On-One Job Search Assistance and Resume Help
Our Computer Center staff now offers one-on-one sessions for help with building resumes and job searching. These sessions are 30 minutes in length. Please bring any relevant information like past resumes with you to your session. To schedule a session, call the Ask A Librarian desk at 412-366-8100 x 113. When you call, please let us know what you would like help with and if you will be bringing an existing resume with you.

Computer Center staff is always available when it comes to helping our fantastic patrons in the Center every day! Stop in to see us upstairs in the Library whenever you need assistance. The Computer Center has many short videos with quick tips and tricks for how to access eBooks and audiobooks as well as longer full classes on topics like Excel and Word. If you require assistance now and the topic you need covered is not in our video library on YouTube, please call us to schedule 1-on-1 technology assistance.

Getting Started with WordPress
Learn how to create a basic website or blog with WordPress.com. First, the class will go through how to set up a free account. Then it will focus on how to use the basic account features to add pages and posts, text and photos, and customize the appearance of the site.
Northland Public Library maintains a Computer Center that provides patrons access to computers, printing and scanning services, and the use of the Internet. The Center also offers free group computer classes as well as one-on-one technology assistance. Virtual reality headsets and Wi-Fi hotspots are available for loan at the Computer Center. The Computer Center does provide proctoring services for patrons – please see the Test Proctoring page of this website for more information. IMPORTANT: You MUST have a library card in good standing in order to gain access to a public computer. Patrons will be prompted to enter their library card number to start a session.

Ricoh MP C2003/MP C2503 – This copier is self serve! No code required! Black and white copies; color copies; scanning capabilities of both original documents and from flash drives
- Black and white – 15 cents per page (double sided is .30 cents)
- Color – 50 cents per page (double sided is $1)
You can pay at the Ask-A-Librarian desk or at the Book Nook store.
