CABIN FEVER – 2026 ADULT WINTER READING CHALLENGE

January 1 through February 28
There’s no better way for a book lover to start the new year than with Cabin Fever, our adult winter reading challenge! For every book read, you’ll have a chance to win a prize! Gift card winners will be chosen in the third full week of January and February, with a grand prize drawing at the end.

To register yourself or family members, check out ReadSquared here: northlandlibrary.readsquared.com.

If you need help navigating the website, we have walk-throughs available on our site. If you aren’t comfortable logging books yourself, the staff at the Ask A Librarian desk can get you registered and fill in books on your behalf.

Category Book Lists are available on the ReadSquared website and printed copies at the Ask A Librarian Desk beginning January 2. More information and as well as a category list with suggested reads are available on the Cabin Fever page on this website HERE.

Happy Winter Reading!


WINTER BOOKMARK CONTEST 2026 – January 1 to 31
Design a bookmark with all things winter reading in mind to enter our 2026 Winter Bookmark Contest. Pick up an entry form at the Children and Teen Services, Ask A Librarian desk, or download one below.  Entry forms will be available in late December.

Two winners will be chosen from each age category: Ages 0 to 5, ages 6 to 9, ages 10 to 12, ages 13 to 17, ages 18+

Entries will be accepted January 2 through January 31. Winners will be announced on February 7. Each winner will receive 30 bookmarks printed with their winning design and certificate. Winners may pick up their prize package from the Children and Teen Services desk beginning on February 20. All winning bookmarks will also be distributed at the Library.
