Love Your Library 2025 ~ Celebrating a Decade of Community, Connection, and Possibility
Ten years ago, something extraordinary began.
In 2016, residents across Allegheny County came together to say something simple and powerful: We love our libraries. That feeling sparked the very first Love Your Library campaign. And thanks to you, it’s grown into a movement.
On Monday, September 1st, we’re proud to launch the 10th annual Love Your Library campaign, and we invite you to celebrate with us by making a gift to Northland Public Library. As an added incentive to give during September, your donation will be partially matched (up to $500 per donor) thanks to the generosity of the Jack Buncher Foundation.

Your gift in any amount is greatly appreciated! You can make a tax-deductible donation online HERE or by mailing or dropping off a check payable to the Northland Public Library Foundation at Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
ATTEND A SPECIAL EVENT
September 5 or 6 ~ Murder Sets Sail: A Northland Mystery is an interactive, 21-and-over fundraiser at the library from 7 to 9 p.m. with sips, sweets and suspense. $35 per person. Order tickets HERE.
September 20 ~ The Children’s Gala 2025: Under the Sea presented by AHN Wexford offers an evening full of fun and wonder at the library for families with young children. Enjoy live entertainment, games, strolling book characters, and more from 6 to 8 p.m. $25 per person. Order tickets HERE.
September 26, 27 & 28 ~ Shop the Fall Book Sale for great deals on used books, DVDs, games and more. If you prefer to shop early without the crowds, register to attend the Preview Sale on Thursday, September 25 for $10. Order Preview Sale tickets HERE.
30 DAYS 30 WAYS TO LOVE YOUR LIBRARY
2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Love Your Library month in Allegheny County. In honor of this special milestone, Northland staff has created a list of 30 ways YOU can love YOUR favorite Library every day this September.
- Plant a Love Your Library yard sign!
- Check out a yoga kit.
- Download a video from Hoopla.
- Teens — attend one of our after-school programs on Thursdays!
- Post a selfie at the Library on social media and tag our account.
- Take a hike with one of our explorer packs.
- Soak up the sun with a good book in the Learning Garden.
- Read the latest issue of your favorite magazine.
- Give one / take one from an NPL Little Free Library.
- Write to your elected officials about the importance of libraries.
- Explore the magic of science: Take home science in a box.
- Electrify your day with a snap circuit kit from the Children’s and Teen Services department.

- Create a dance party with our music collection.

Send an email, make a phone call, attend a monthly municipal meeting…any way you can to let your elected officials know how important Northland is to your family. Northland is supported by local and state funding.
