DROP-IN PROGRAMS IN THE COMMUNITY
Did you know that Northland Children’s/Young Adult Librarians visit preschools, daycare centers, conduct school visits, and provide assemblies and interactive storytelling programs for students in classrooms from Kindergarten through High School? Every week our librarians take stories, fingerplays, action rhymes, songs, science experiments and other STEM activities, book talks and games out into the community to add a little library zip to early literacy programs in our service area.
In 2014 our outreach included:
In the library = 213 programs to 7,344 patrons
Outreach = 157 visits to 8,329 patrons
Teens = 77 programs to 1,158 teens
Total patrons = 16,831
In 2015 our outreach included:
In the library: 249 programs to 8,614 patrons
Outreach = 385 visits to 13,628 patrons
Teens = 96 programs to 980 teens
Total patrons = 23,222
In 2016 our outreach included:
In the library: 395 programs to 12,444 patrons
Outreach = 415 visits to 14,689 patrons
Teens = 99 programs to 694 teens
Total patrons = 27, 827
In 2017 our outreach (to date/September) included:
In the library: 265 Programs to 10,678
Outreach = 207 visits to 9,116 patrons
Teens = 50 programs to 633 teens
Total patrons = 10,678
