Gregory Gibson Kenney: Jackie and Roberto
Thursday, June 14 at 7:00pm
Northland favorite, Gregory Gibson Kenney returns June 14 to share the lives of two remarkable baseball players – Jackie Robinson and Roberto Clemente.
In Jackie: Cross the Line! Kenney portrays Jackie Robinson's life from Pasadena, Ca. where he grew up, to his career in Major League Baseball. He was not just the first black player in the major leagues since the 1880’s; he was one of the great players of all time. His uniform number, 42, was retired across all of the major leagues.
After a short intermission, Kenney will return in Roberto: Chat with an Angel. Roberto Clemente returns to Pittsburgh to guide you on a journey from his childhood to his legendary career in Major League Baseball. This baseball angel tells a story of desire and determination that shows how he became one of society's most valuable players.
