How-To Festival @ Northland

Have you always wanted to learn how to do some simple woodcarving? Or how to twirl a baton? How about basic Tai Chi, making gift cards, growing roses, or trying a simple knitting project? Throughout the library on June 22nd, you'll see people demonstrating various skills that you can learn in a short time, so drop in between 10 am and 3 pm for some fun and learning!

All of the libraries in northern Allegheny County are having a How-To Day on June 22nd, so you might want to stop at several libraries to see what types of activities they are having! ! Help Northland Leap to the Future!

From April 22nd until May 24th, the Northland Public Library Foundation will be running its 2013 Spring Fundraising Campaign. With a goal of raising $15,000 to support upcoming programs and growth at Northland, we will need YOUR help to make it happen! In the past, Foundation donors have helped to fund the NOMAD lending kiosks, the Bookmobiles, the Summer Reading Club, the Science Club, the Computer Center, and much, much more. We hope you will join us in taking the leap!

You can buy one of our adorable hopping frogs at any checkout desk for $1, donate online using the donate button below, or stop by any desk to pick up a donation envelope for your gift of a check or cash. Donation boxes are located on the first and second floors.

Summer Reading Clubs Coming Soon
June 3rd - August 17th

Summer Reading is a club here at the library for kids of all ages…from
pre-readers to teens. It’s in the SUMMER and we hope you’ll find lots to READ, so we call it the Summer Reading Club! Registration begins June 3rd, but you can sign up anytime between June 3rd and August 17th. To join, visit our website either from home or here at the library and fill in the registration form.  Once you have done that, come to the children’s area and we’ll get you started in the fun. The registration form isn't available yet, but we will let you know as soon as it is! In the meantime, check out our Summer Reading Club page for more details.

Everyone loves the Pierogi Truck!

Thursday, May23, 2 pm - 6 pm

Back by popular demand, the Northland Public Library Foundation once again partners with Zum Zum LLC, operators of Pittsburgh’s first and only Pittsburgh Polish Pierogi Truck for two more parking lot pierogi parties. Hot and ready to eat pierogi, stuffed cabbage and haluski, Polish Platters and a large variety of frozen pierogi to take and make for that game day party! 15% of all sales will benefit Northland Public Library!
