Coin Collecting for Kids & Teens
Saturday, September 23 from 1 – 3 p.m. – register
Children second grade and up will learn about this fascinating hobby. The North Hills Coin Club is bringing lots of knowledge and give-aways! Absolute beginners will receive a coin folder and coins; kids & teens who are already collectors can bring their folders and add to their collections. Registration required, please register each child separately.
Teen Read Week™ is a national adolescent literacy initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). It began in 1998 and is held annually in October the same week as Columbus Day. Its purpose is to encourage teens to be regular readers and library users.
The 2017 event will be held October 8 – 14th, featuring the theme ‘Unleash Your Story.”
To celebrate this week our Maker Monday and Teen Thursday programs will be about individual expression.
Maker Monday – Monday, October 9 from 3 -4 p.m. we will continue our visual journaling. If you already have a journal bring it, for those just starting out we will provide a fresh journal to get you started.
Teen Thursday – Thursday, October 12 from 3:-4:30 p.m. we will use a variety of ways to express who you are, through writing, journaling, and other venues of self expression.
Second Monday Each Month from 3-4 p.m.
Teens and tweens from rising sixth grade to rising twelfth grade are invited to explore their creative side through maker materials. No registration required and all materials will be provided.
Each Thursday at 3 p.m.
No registration required. Open to all in rising sixth to twelfth grades.

- October 5 – Not meeting due to book sale set up.
- October 12 – We will use a variety of ways to express who you are, through writing, journaling, and other venues of self-expression.
- October 19 – Cooking- make an after school treat
- October 26 – Get ready for Halloween with a not too scary movie
