FREE TREE FOR KIDS AND NATURE FUN FOR ALL
Sunday, April 28 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Time to think spring! Parents may register their children to receive a free tree from neighborhoodforest.org. Register online HERE. Deadline to register is March 15.
On Sunday, April 28, stop by the library between 2 and 3 to pick up your seedlings and enjoy live music and nature activities.

Children ages 7 to 11 can come listen to Pat Zietlow Miller’s What Can You Do with a Rock, talk about all things rock related, and make a craft.

NORTHLAND KIDS CHESS CLUB – Every third Wednesday of (almost) each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Join Chess Club to gain game experience, solve chess puzzles, and develop habits of good sportsmanship. Players must already know how to play the game.
No registration necessary.

Home school students ages 9-13 are invited to join instructor Matthew Neal for a lesson in percussion! After a brief introduction to the different types of instruments, we will be focusing on the percussion family. Participants will have the opportunity to try various instruments. Are you a middle schooler who enjoys creative writing? Would you like to meet other students with similar interests? Whether you are already deep into an ongoing writing project or unsure where to start, join us once a month for writing games, group writing exercises, and interesting prompts. Bring your notebook or laptop: there will be plenty of unstructured time to start a new project or continue working on an old one, as well as opportunities to share your work, if you wish. Questions? Safe handling of photography equipment, managing lighting and shadows, composing your best shot, using the environment and color expressions in photos, and choosing a point of view. Don’t have a camera? No worries, bring your cell phone!
April 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Registration (begins April 1)
Cake Decorating
The different types of cake decorating equipment. Creating different frostings. Working with fondant, butter cream and royal frosting. Please indicate any allergies when registering.

Companion Animals: Dogs
Ever wonder how prehistoric dogs met pre-historic humans? Want to know how dogs think and the meaning behind their body language? Curious about what keeps dogs happy and healthy? Discover these answers and the valuable roles these furry companions play in our lives. Therapy Dogs will be here for a meet and greet.
We will be outside, dress accordingly.
