Get Involved: Volunteer

 

Contribute your time and talents to Northland Library! Complete an online volunteer application form, and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview. We'll match your schedule and interests to our needs, and provide training prior to your volunteer assignment.

Ongoing Opportunities:

  • Adopt-A-Row
    This is a way to show pride in Northland.  Help us keep the collection neat and in the correct location.  Duties include: check material to assure each is in the proper location and in correct alphabetical/Dewey Decimal order.  Move materials to the front of shelves and shift books as necessary.  Clean shelves as necessary.  Training is provided.  Hours are flexible.

  • Used Book Sales Assistant
    We are in need to someone with search engine skills (Google, ect.), ease with computers, and a regular weekly commitment to help us sell our used books on the internet.  The person needs to be physically capable of lifting books to search through them.  Regular commitment on Thursday or Friday (anytime) in preferred.
  • Lending Kiosk
    Our lending kiosks at the Ross Community Center and Baierl Family YMCA are in need of volunteers.  The individual will update the lending kiosk with new books and deliver the old books back to Northland.  This volunteer position requires an individual who is comfortable with technology and has reliable transportation.  Regular commitment on Friday is preferred.

About Linda:

Linda is a weekly volunteer, assisting the staff in the Technical Service Department at Northland Public Library.  She is a loyal volunteer, donating a few hours each week.

Linda is a regular visitor to the library and believes volunteering is a great way to give back to the library.  When she isn’t spending time at the library Linda enjoys traveling, reading, and growing orchids. 

May is also Linda's birthday month! If you see Linda at the library, be sure to thank her and wish her a Happy Birthday.
