LOCAL HISTORY

Northland Public Library has many local history resources. Our circulating and reference collections include North Hills history books about our five municipalities as well as Western Pennsylvania history books. Northland also maintains a collection of files containing newspaper clippings, pamphlets, maps, municipal reports, newsletters etc. We have a collection of oral histories from Franklin Park residents and access to historical records through several online databases. In addition, The Northland Historical Image Collection is now being hosted on the Historic Pittsburgh website. This collection will be made up of digital images of historical photos from several collections including the Allegheny County Department of Public Works, Franklin Park Borough Archives and the North Allegheny Museum.
